Ted Nugent, Styx, REO Speedwagon to play at The Ralph

Rock bands Styx, REO Speedwagon as well as Ted Nugent will play the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks on April 18, the arena announced Monday. The trio’s tour is called “The Midwest Rock ‘n Roll Express,” and the bands take turns headlining. Styx will close the show in Grand Forks, officials said. A release said Nugent takes the stage at 7 p.m. for all his shows on the tour.

Last year’s “Midwest Rock ‘n Roll Express” tour was recognized by Rolling Stone as one of the 10 hottest summer package tours, officials said in a release.

The Grand Forks show is the start of the second leg of the tour. The trio will play in Minneapolis on April 19.

Tickets go on sale Friday through the Ralph Engelstad Arena box office, ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000. Tickets are priced from $27 to $101.

REO Speedwagon and Styx have toured together for several years, and Nugent played with Styx’s Tommy Shaw in the band Damn Yankees.
