Kenrad Pederson introduced Tim Perkins, assistant manager of the Buffalo Mall, to talk to Kiwanis members about the activities going on during the next couple of months at the mall.

Perkins noted a number of events that are planned in the next two months. On Feb. 23, the mall will have kids’ indoor air games, where usually a couple hundred kids attend. On Feb. 28, the mall will have the Mobile Vet Center there and it is expected to be there on the fourth Thursday of every month. On March 2, the Kiwanis Club will have the Kids Against Hunger event at the mall. On March 9 it will once again host the Chili Cookoff, Perkins said. The proceeds of this event are given to Meals on Wheels. Live entertainment is being planned for this event. There will be many more events throughout the spring. Perkins also said people can use the mall to get their exercise; five laps around the mall is a mile.

Perkins went to Jamestown High School, then North Dakota State University and finished his degree at Jamestown College. He worked for Hebron Brick for two years. He now works at the mall as well as manages some residential properties.

Sandy Franke led the meeting with 14 members attending. Lt Mitch Brecto led the group singing. Jan Barnes collected “Happy Dollars.” Don Bentz reported that Kiwanis is at $29,500 for Kids Against Hunger. There will be no official meeting on Feb. 18, since it is Presidents Day; however, there will be a roundtable at the Depot for anyone wanting to attend.
