ND trooper not seriously hurt when car rear-ended

A North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper and the driver of a pickup truck that went out of control and rear-ended his patrol car on Interstate 94 near West Fargo both escaped serious injury.

WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper and the driver of a pickup truck that went out of control and rear-ended his patrol car on Interstate 94 near West Fargo both escaped serious injury.

Patrol Capt. Bryan Niewind (NEE’-wihnd) tells The Forum newspaper that Trooper Jamey Jahner and the pickup's driver both were treated at a Fargo hospital and released after the Monday night crash.

Niewind says Jahner suffered a cut to his head and will be off duty for a couple of days to recover.

The pickup driver's name was not immediately released.
