Alban M. Braun “Big Al”, 78, Jamestown, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at his home. Al was born February 24, 1934 in Strasburg, ND, the son of Ben and Maggie (Gardner) Braun. He received his education in Cogswell, ND, then moved to Jud, ND.

Al was born February 24, 1934 in Strasburg, ND, the son of Ben and Maggie (Gardner) Braun. He received his education in Cogswell, ND, then moved to Jud, ND. He married Eileen Elhard on July 28, 1954. They lived in Minnesota and later moved to Jamestown. Al worked at R.M. Stoudt Ford, Melland’s, Big Al’s Towing and Engdahls Trucking.

He enjoyed woodworking and having coffee with his friends.

Al is survived by four children, Debra (Bruce) Davis and Wanda Bear, both of Jamestown, Duane Braun, Fargo, ND and Vicky (Craig) Kram, Osnabrock, ND; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Braun, Tacoma, WA and Mike (Laurel) Braun, Washington; and four sisters, Arlene Siewert, Alexandria, MN, Delores (Rodney) Pribnow, Wisconsin, Susan Braun, Minnesota and Dori (Wally) Budahn, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one granddaughter, Megan Davis; two sisters, Tony O’Mealy and Caryl Benting; and two brothers, Richard and Randy.

Eucharist of Christian Burial: 2:00 PM, Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Basilica of St. James.

Visitation: 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial will be in the spring at St. Philips Neri Cemetery, Napoleon, ND, when all the family can attend.
