Letter to the editor: Legislature shouldn’t be deciding women’s business

I am sick and tired of those in our Legislature who think they know more about making decisions about women’s bodies than we women do! Do they think we are too helpless to supply ourselves with contraceptives? Do they think we have no control over if or when we get pregnant? By the decisions they make for us, you’d think we didn’t know the cause of pregnancy and that we are at the mercy of the Legislature for our family planning options.

It’s time for us women to stand up! We women can take a stand against “one-night stands”! We can have the fortitude to so “no” to relationships that we know can end up with unwanted pregnancies. We don’t need the legislators to hand out legalized abortion options as if we can’t control ourselves! We have the fortitude to make our family planning decisions without the help of the federal government.

Or do we?
