Local ice fishing derby draws crowd

Almost 800 people competed Saturday in the Jamestown Rural Fire Department’s Sixth Annual Ice Fishing Derby, according to the department’s website.
The Knights of Columbus held a raffle in connection with the tournament and the top prize, a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro, was won by Ayden Ness. No other information is included on the website.
Winners were named in each category of perch, walleye, northern pike and crappie.
Following is the list of winners in each category from the JRFD website. No information about where contestants were from was provided.
Perch — Jade Ulmer, 1.15 pounds
Walleye — Shannon Scholz, 2.98 pounds
Northern pike — Mike Thompson, 12.28 pounds
Crappie — Matt Danzi. 0.52 pounds.
