Boardings from Jamestown Regional Airport fell to 224 in January after reaching 300 in December, leaving airport officials concerned about improving the airport’s market share.

The Jamestown Regional Airport Authority discussed its contract with air service provider Great Lakes Aviation Wednesday and how Great Lakes has an incentive to increase boardings in Jamestown.

Katie Andersen, Jamestown mayor and JRAA member, suggested a larger-scale marketing campaign promoting flying out of the Jamestown airport.

“I think we need to keep plugging away at the things we’re doing … but there may need to be something more substantial to get that market back that we lost,” Andersen said.
