The Jamestown Sun hands out these bravos and a buffalo chip this week:
*Bravo to Vincent and Mary Stoddart of Jamestown, who have been married for 71 years. The two were featured in a story in The Jamestown Sun on Valentine’s Day.
*Buffalo chip that domestic violence cases are on the rise here, according to local law enforcement and leaders of groups that provide counseling and assistance for victims of abuse. The officials discussed the issue with Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., this week in Jamestown.
*Bravo to Cordell Schroeder, Carrington senior who earned his second Class B state title in wrestling last weekend. Schroeder pinned Minot Ryan’s Mason Kramer to take the heavyweight championship. And bravo to teammate Walker Carr, a freshman who won the title at 132 pounds.
*Bravo to Jason Anderson, a Carrington native who was inducted into the North Dakota Wrestling Hall of Fame on Saturday. A three-time state champion at Carrington High School, he also took sixth at the Division II nationals while at the University of North Dakota.
