One person was sentenced on felony charges in Southeast District Court.

One person was sentenced on felony charges in Southeast District Court.

Cody Lee Heery, 21, 915 Eighth Ave. SE, pleaded guilty to theft of property and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The theft charge is a Class C felony while the possession charge is a Class A felony.

Heery was accused of writing 28 checks without sufficient funds to two businesses totaling $728.62 between Feb. 1, 2012 and Feb. 25, 2012. Heery was also accused of possession of acetaminophen/oxycodone hydrochloride on May 17, 2012.

Judge John Greenwood sentenced Heery to two years supervised probation on the each charge. Heery was also ordered to pay a $325 attorney fee, $400 criminal administration fee, $100 defense/facility admin fee, $50 miscellaneous/state fee and $728.62 restitution fee.

A Class C felony is punishable by five years and a $5,000 fine. A Class A Felony is punishable by 20 years in prison and a fine of $20,000.
