Jays drop finale at state tournament

Grand Forks defeated Jamestown 4-1 in the third-place game at the state girls hockey tournament in Grand Forks on Saturday.

Grand Forks defeated Jamestown 4-1 in the third-place game at the state girls hockey tournament in Grand Forks on Saturday.

The Blue Jays finished the season with an 18-8 record. The fourth-place finish was their best in school history.

Larissa Wiest scored the JHS goal, but Grand Forks never trailed in this one. Jamestown had beaten Grand Forks, the tournament's No. 2 seed, three times this season prior to Saturday.

Carissa Finck stopped 38 shots in goal for the Blue Jays.
