Weigel, Dewald lift Napoleon

Third-ranked Napoleon used a 20-point second quarter to distance itself from District 6 rival Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock en route to a 72-50 win in Class B girls basketball action Saturday in Linton.

Third-ranked Napoleon used a 20-point second quarter to distance itself from District 6 rival Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock en route to a 72-50 win in Class B girls basketball action Saturday in Linton. Kendra Weigel and Sheridon Dewald scored 21 and 20 points, respectively, for the Imperials, who led 38-26 at halftime. Linton-HMB’s Kaidra Larson finished with 16 points.

Benson County withstood a late Midkota rally, holding on for a win in Binford.

The Mustangs trailed 39-24 after three quarters, but outscored Benson County 21-8 in the third.

Saddie Harding led Midkota with 13 points.

Sara Schwanke had a game-high 19 for Benson County.
