BISMARCK (AP) — A jury failed to reach a verdict in the case of a Bismarck woman accused of allowing her 15-year-old daughter to drink to the point of unconsciousness.

The Bismarck Tribune reported that 33-year-old Janelle Mae Guy was charged in October with child abuse or neglect and contributing to the delinquency of minors.

According to court documents, officers were called to an apartment and found six people younger than 21 hiding in a bedroom. Guy’s daughter was taken to a hospital when she was so intoxicated that she was not responsive.

Several witnesses gave conflicting testimony during the one-day trial, and the jury couldn’t reach a verdict Friday.

Burleigh County Assistant State’s Attorney Dawn Deitz said she’ll review the evidence before deciding whether to take the case back to trial.
