Ypsilanti 50+ club observes holiday
The February meeting of the Ypsilanti 50+ club was held at the James River Senior and Community Center on Valentine’s Day.

President Harriet Lien opened with the pledge. A thank you was read from DeLette Winkelman for the collection that was taken the month before for the children’s hunger fund. Dale Marks said he missed the decorations on the tables for this month. Nancylou Jensen was selected to be the decorator and also pick a roll call for each meeting.
Bee jae Erickson will check with the nurse, and find a good time that will accommodate the members and the nurse.
Velma Roeske had the program. She has been designated as the club’s “roving reporter” and will do interviews. This month she interviewed Marks, vice president.
Marks served two terms in the North Dakota House and then won a position in the Senate. He is now a county commissioner. He said it has all been a great and humbling learning experience for each of the positions that he has held.
New business discussed was possibly getting back to the “home” club house in Ypsilanti by the April meeting.
Irene Medeiros won the money prize and fun prizes were won by Charles Medeiros, Roeske, Marks and Nels Lien. February birthdays were Lien and Carolgene Matthiesen.
