In the 115 years since, the organization has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to various programs and research institutions. Significant medical breakthroughs have been made using dollars earned through the hard work of its members.
The Eagles has given Christmas gifts to children, aid packages to deployed service members and aid to retired people. In 2008, Eagles made a $25 million pledge to the University of Iowa to form The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center. To date, the F.O.E. has donated $19 million to help researchers make progress toward a cure.
