The Jamestown native broke the NDSU school record and the DakotaDome record in the heptathlon at the Summit League indoor championships in Vermillion, S.D., on Monday.
Lillejord’s total of 5,661 points also set a new meet record and moved the NDSU junior up to No. 13 in D-I in the heptathlon. He also automatically qualified for the NCAA outdoor championships March 8-9 in Fayetteville, Ark. Lillejord broke the old mark of Ted Rud, set in 2011 with a total of 5,541.

It was the second straight Summit League indoor title for Lillejord in the heptathlon. He also was named the men’s Field MVP of the meet.
He is the son of Jon and Connie Lillejord and is majoring in zoology at NDSU.
