Redneck Triathlon raises $1,000
The first Heart Redneck Triathlon held Feb. 16 in Jamestown raised $1,000, according to Rayette Brown, WomenHeart support network coordinator in Jamestown. More than half of the proceeds will stay local in a separate saving account at First Community Credit Union under Rayette Brown/Heart Triathlon, she said.

The proceeds raised will benefit Rayette’s Women’s Heart/Gastric Support Network, held at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month in conference room No. 1 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. A percentage of the funds will be given to WomenHeart National Coalition, American Heart Association and toward heart-related patients.
The event is expected to be held annually.
