Letter to the editor: Some lawmakers are simply out for themselves

We need term limits. We’ve had years of our Republicans and some Democrats doing nothing but condemn our president. Since the Republicans lost in the election, they’ve been trying every trick they can to fight the president every time he tries to get a bill through Congress.

We need term limits. We’ve had years of our Republicans and some Democrats doing nothing but condemn our president. Since the Republicans lost in the election, they’ve been trying every trick they can to fight the president every time he tries to get a bill through Congress.

Some of the Republicans need to be voted out of office. They’re not there to do the people’s business. They’re there to condemn everything our president tries to do for the people.

Some Republicans and Democrats have been in office for 30 years. Eight years is long enough for any lawmaker to be in office. After eight years they can find a job like the people are doing now, and see how hard it is to find a job.

Also, they should pay for their own health insurance, instead of the taxpayer paying for it. When they consider a raise in their wages, they vote to make sure they get the raise. But when they are to vote on a raise on the minimum wage for the people, they vote against it. They like to keep the people poor, so they can line their own pockets. Don’t let them get back in office in 2014.

How much longer do we have to put up with this kind of business? The next four years will be the same if incumbents are re-elected. We have the power in our hands to show we don’t put up with this kind of business in our government. They’re not for the people, only for themselves. Don’t let them fool you again.
