Girl reported struck in hit-and-run

A 14-year-old Jamestown girl received non-incapacitating injuries in a hit-and-run accident Wednesday, according to the Jamestown Police Department. The accident happened at 6:18 a.m. on 10th Street Southeast at the intersection with Third Avenue Southeast.

The accident happened at 6:18 a.m. on 10th Street Southeast at the intersection with Third Avenue Southeast.

An unidentified vehicle was traveling westbound on 10th Street and was approaching the intersection of Third Avenue. Jennifer L. Almer was delivering newspapers and was walking north on 10th Street at the intersection of Third Avenue.

The police department said Almer was struck by the unidentified vehicle as it proceeded through the intersection. She said she was struck by a car but had no more details. She was transported by ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for further treatment.
