Victims of Montana crashes identified
Officials have released the names of two men who died in recent highway crashes in eastern Montana.
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Officials have released the names of two men who died in recent highway crashes in eastern Montana.
Richland County Coroner John Dennison said 22-year-old Casey Daniel Austin of Mandan, N.D., died on Feb. 28 when the pickup truck he was riding in failed to negotiate a left hand curve in the road near Sidney. The truck went off an embankment, flipped on its top and slid about 20 feet. The crash was reported at about 5:30 a.m.
Roosevelt County Assistant Coroner Marilyn Silva told The Billings Gazette that 53-year-old Thomas Zortman of Poplar died after a one-vehicle crash at about 5:50 a.m. on Feb. 28.
The Montana Highway Patrol said Zortman was eastbound on U.S. Highway 2 when he suffered a heart attack and lost control of the vehicle.
