N.D. woman charged with murder
A Fort Yates woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend’s cousin to death will remain in custody until her trial. The Bismarck Tribune reported that Magistrate Judge Charles Miller ordered Morning Star Brown be held in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending trial. Miller said Brown appeared to be a danger to herself and the community and a risk to not appear at future court hearings.
FORT YATES, N.D. (AP) — A Fort Yates woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend’s cousin to death will remain in custody until her trial.
The Bismarck Tribune reported that Magistrate Judge Charles Miller ordered Morning Star Brown be held in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending trial. Miller said Brown appeared to be a danger to herself and the community and a risk to not appear at future court hearings.
The judge also found that there was probable cause for the charge against Brown.
Brown has been charged in federal court with second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing Jarrett Two Bear to death at his home in Fort Yates. Fort Yates is on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation, so that’s why the charges are in federal court.
