The Child Evangelism Fellowship’s annual spring banquet will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Jamestown Civic Center.
The theme will be “Good News Across America Starts Here,” and John Luck, the project manager for Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) outreach, will be the featured speaker. Greg Hager of Valley City, N.D., will be the musical guest.
Luck owned and ran John Luck Renovations when he was asked to serve on a local committee for CEF, but found he was spending more time on CEF and less on the business. Eventually he became volunteer project manager for Good News Across America for Chicago, Little Rock, Boston and Salt Lake City, and in 2011, he joined the CEF headquarters staff full-time.
Currently, Luck is not only the project manager but also serves as human resources director, overseeing recruitment, short-term missions, ministry partnerships and promotion of volunteer services.
Luck will speak about how people can play an essential part in the movement of the gospel in local communities.
Hager, who was raised on a grain and dairy farm southwest of Valley City, will perform a mix of original music and stories, with a country style. He said the inspiration for his music comes from his own and other peoples’ experiences.
