BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota ranked fourth in the nation in annual export growth from 2011 to 2012.
North Dakota's exports increased from $3.39 billion in 2011 to $4.29 billion in 2012. That's a 26 percent increase. North Dakota is among 11 states that achieved double-digit growth in annual exports last year.
Last year, businesses in North Dakota shipped their products to more than 140 foreign countries.
U.S. Department of Commerce Under Secretary Francisco Sanchez wrote a letter to Gov. Jack Dalrymple and the state of North Dakota for the achievement.
