Doris Mae Lang was born April 6, 1933 in Streeter, ND, to Konrad & Bertha (Witt) Lang. Doris attended school in Streeter. On November 24, 1949, Doris was married to Adolph J. Dockter at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Streeter. Together they raised a family and farmed south east of Streeter. They moved to Bismarck in 1994.
Doris was a very busy wife, mother and homemaker. She also found the time to be active in ALCW, Legion Auxiliary, and Homemakers. Doris was the director of Stutsman County Senior Citizens, in Streeter, from 1974 through 1984. While living in Bismarck, Doris became the RSVP (retired senior volunteer coordinator) for Burleigh /Morton counties, until she retired in 1996.
One of Doris’s favorite things to do was cook, and what a cook she was! Doris, also thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas season. She began buying and wrapping Christmas presents in March every year. She was just like a kid and could not contain herself while waiting to open her presents. Doris always had people at her home. She thoroughly enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Doris also loved to play games, dance, eat chocolate, and listen to Elvis.
Doris is survived by her three children, Stephen (Tammy) Dockter, Barnesville, MN; Lonnie (Holly) Dockter, Bismarck; and Cheryl (Rick) Graba, Bismarck; six grandchildren: Matthew, Andy, Ryan, Streeter, Sheyenne, and Dustin; four great-grandkids: Kolton, Toby, Sheldon and Zac; and her sister, Judy Boughton, MO.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph; her parents, brother, Marvin, sisters; Evelyn and Elenor, and her grand-daughter Stephanie.
The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Napoleon Care Center, Napoleon, ND.
Doris enjoyed life to the fullest & will be missed by all who knew her! We love and miss you mom!
