Two people were injured in a crash Wednesday that caused about $14,500 in damage, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at 12:30 p.m. on Highway 52 near Buchanan, N.D.
The patrol said a 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by Brittany Nelson, 24, of Camden, S.C., was southbound near where Highway 52 transitions from two to four lanes.
A 2007 Kenworth pulling an enclosed semi-trailer, driven by Amelia Vanniekerk, 27, 317 Seventh St. SW, Jamestown, was also southbound in front of the Toyota in the left lane.
Nelson changed from the right lane to the left lane and struck the Kenworth. The car spun out of control and continued striking the left side of the truck and trailer until the car entered the east ditch and came to rest.
Nelson and her passenger, Emma Nelson, 4, also of Camden, suffered minimal injuries and were transported by Jamestown Area Ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center. The Nelsons and Vanniekerk were wearing seat belts.
There was an estimated $9,500 in damage to the Toyota and $5,000 to the Kenworth.
Nelson was cited for improper lane change.
