The Performing Arts Series at Jamestown College continues with a performance by Sonic Escape at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, in the Reiland Fine Arts Center’s DeNault Auditorium.

Sonic Escape is a trio of Juilliard graduates Maria Kaneko Millar, violin, Shawn Wyckoff, flute and Michael Haas, cello, performing original works, arrangements and improvisations.

From New York City, the members of Sonic Escape are equally at home performing in the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, or traveling across the country in roles as diverse as fiddle-dancing in “Riverdance,” jamming with Beale Street blues bands, improvising with Native-American flute masters and playing rock clubs.

Sonic Escape is the recipient of two Canada Council for the Arts Composition Grants, a Puffin Foundation Award and a Chamber Music America Residency Grant.

The summer of 2012 marked the release of its debut album as well as the trio’s introduction to the folk festival circuit.
