Possible injury reported from crash

One possible injury was reported in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

One possible injury was reported in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

The accident happened at 2:29 p.m. at the intersection of Third Avenue Northwest and Third Street Northwest.

Brittany H. Hieb, 22, 1101 Second Ave. NW, was driving a 2008 Pontiac car eastbound on Third Street Northwest. Jerome R. Szarkowski, 59, 1405 Second Ave. NE, was driving a 2011 Ford southbound on Third Avenue Northwest. Szarkowski pulled into the intersection and did not see Hieb approaching. She was unable to stop and struck Szarkowski’s vehicle.

Hieb had a possible injury, but did not seek treatment. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Damage was estimated at $5,000 to the Pontiac and $3,000 to the Ford.

Szarkowski was cited for failed to yield.
