Sex offender working here

The Jamestown Police Department wants to warn Jamestown residents regarding a convicted sex offender who is working within the city of Jamestown.

Eric David Lacey is in the Stutsman County Jail. He is described as a 53-year-old white male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 280 pounds with green eyes and brown hair.

Lacey has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee, Office of the Attorney General.

Lacy was convicted in 2009 in Federal Court in California for possession of child porn. When FBI agents arrested him in California for the warrant from the Federal Court in North Dakota, they found him in possession of a laptop containing 299 images of child pornography. He was sentenced to 60 months, supervised probation.

He was convicted in U.S. Federal Court in 2008 of possession of material - sex exploit of minors. FBI agents executed a search warrant at Lacey’s Bismarck residence in 2007 and found DVDs containing 54 movies depicting child pornography. He was sentenced to 60 months, supervised probation.

Lacey is not wanted by police at this time and is serving the sentence imposed by the court. This notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor should this information be used to threaten, assault or intimidate Lacey. Attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten Lacey or his family, landlord or employer will be turned over for prosecution.
