The NAFCC accreditation is the only nationally recognized accreditation system designed for family child care providers. The accreditation is awarded to family child care providers who meet eligibility requirements and standards for NAFCC. The NAFCC said accreditation reflects a level of quality through a process that looks at all aspects of the family child care program: relationships, the environment, developmental learning activities, safety and health, and professional and business practices. Once family child care providers are accredited, they agree to abide by the standards set by NAFCC and to be measured against those standards with periodic reviews. More than 2,100 NAFCC accredited providers are in the U.S. and worldwide where military family child care professionals operate.
The National Association for Family Child Care is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting high quality child care by strengthening the profession of family child care for more than 200,000 regulated family child care programs, serving almost 40 percent of the 1.7 million children in care.
Kapp, who has a Child Development Associate credential, is also a member of the Jamestown Association for Child Care Services.
