Darrell Karn, Buckeye, AZ passed away at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, NV on Friday surrounded by his family.
Darrell was born in Worthington, MN on January 9, 1938. He grew up on a farm near Kensal, ND and graduated from Kensal high school in 1956. He joined the US Air Force in 1956 and served his tour of duty in Alaska. He moved to southern California and worked as diesel mechanic and later was an owner/operator for United Van Lines for a number of years. He enjoyed driving stock cars in the North Dakota, and southern California areas and after retirement followed NASCAR very closely. He also enjoyed biking on his Harley, jeeping in the sand hills of southern Arizona, and boating.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife, Linda, Buckeye, AZ, son David Briss (Tammey) of McHenry, ND, daughter, Sheri (Randy) Bowmer, Jacksonville, FL, son Warren (April) of Riverside, CA, step children; Kori (Greg) Knox, Surprise, AZ, Robin Garcia, Peoria, AZ, Michael Wilkinson, Buckeye, AZ, Sierra (Tom) Walkenbach, Surprise, AZ.; many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Leanne (Joe) Stanley, Mapleton, ND, brother, Herman (Jeralyn) Karn, Lake Havasau, AZ
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Lillian Karn and sister Caroline Landert.
Memorial services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Camino Del Sol Funeral Home in Sun City West, AZ. Interment will be at a later date in North Dakota.
