Schulz speaks to Kiwanis Club

Sandy Wilhelm introduced Blaine Schulz and his father, Terry Schulz, at the March 12 Kiwanis meeting.

Blaine Schulz spoke on attending the Special Olympics in South Korea. He has been a full-time employee of Walmart for 15 years and a graduate of Jamestown High School. He started participating in Special Olympics when he was 8 years old and has been active for 24 years. Blaine Schulz has many accomplishments with Special Olympics and has won a large number of ribbons and medals over the years. He was one of nine athletes from the U.S. to participate. He competed in snowshoeing. He had his snowshoes along and showed them and his father spoke about them.

Janna Bergstedt led the meeting with 19 members attending and two guests, Tim Perkins and Krysten Williams. The group singing was accompanied by Tim Burchill. Wes Hart collected “Happy Dollars” for the Community Action backpack program.

There was no meeting on March 18 as the members will attend the ag luncheon today at North Dakota Farmers Union.

Jan Barnes will introduce Troy Gunderson of Youth for Christ at the March 25 noon luncheon meeting at the Lantern Room. He will speak about the capital campaign being conducted.
