A procession with palms will begin the Palm/Passion Sunday worship services at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1403 Ninth Ave. SE. Holy Communion led by the Rev. Nels Lillejord will be celebrated and the choir will sing an anthem.

This service is a remembrance of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem with the crowds waving palm branches and singing.

Participants are encouraged to take their palm branches home and display them in a prominent place as a reminder during the upcoming year of this special day in Jesus’ life.

Holy Week observances will continue with Maundy Thursday services at 6:45 p.m. March 28, including Holy Communion. First-time communicants will also celebrate the Lord’s Supper.

Immanuel Lutheran Church is located next to Gardenette Housing in southeast Jamestown and the building is accessible with no steps for the physically challenged. The congregation of Immanuel welcomes the public to worship with them.
