Astronaut who graduated from UND returns to space
University of North Dakota graduate Karen Nyberg is returning to space.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — University of North Dakota graduate Karen Nyberg is returning to space.
Nyberg traveled to the International Space Station aboard a space shuttle in 2008. This May, she's going back, joining astronauts from Italy and Russia for a launch in Kazakhstan.
The Minnesota native and 1994 UND graduate says the resilience she's developed by running marathons will ease tough nights during the six-month mission.
