Congratulations to Marla Hooch’s Hitters, the James-town College Jimmies Fast Pitch Softball Team! The Hitters earned 471 points with an average of 58.9 points per member. The softball team will be happy to know they have earned $125, which they plan to use to offset the cost of their spring training in Tucson, Ariz. This week’s random drawing prize goes to Team No. 5, the Cargill Malt Pack. The random prize is $75. Prize money will be distributed at the end of the program.

Good work this week! The total number of points attained this week was 21,428 with an overall average of 31.3 points per person participating. We generated an additional 2,118 points which is the equivalent of 3 points more per person! Way to take it up a notch!

The Wellness Challenge for this week, the week of Feb. 4 to 10, is to be drug-free. You will get 2 points per day for living a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. To remain drug free, you must be free of all tobacco products and byproducts including exposure to secondhand smoke and free of alcohol and street drugs. Caffeine is not included in this challenge — we wouldn’t dare take away your morning cup of coffee — but do try to limit caffeinated beverages to one to two per day.

Weight Loss Tips for the week:

* One of the best tools you can use to lose weight is to keep a daily food record. Studies have shown that just by keeping a record, dieters were more successful at weight loss. Monitoring caloric intake can be very beneficial.

* If you need help with calculating how many calories to consume, and how to lose weight, make an appointment with a licensed, registered dietitian. There are dietitians available for consultation through each of the clinics, Jamestown Hospital and the YMCA.

* If you are not having success at weight loss, you may also want to schedule a visit with your physician to assess for any underlying health issues.

Thank you to Nancy Thoen at Central Valley Health and Dean Geidt from Anne Carlson Center for Children for assisting with dividing and distributing the T-shirts. A huge chore accomplished!
