James River Family YMCA Learning Center in James-town has been selected by North Dakota Child Care Resource and Referral as one of five child-care centers to participate in the North Dakota Child Care Growth Fund Pilot Project.

“We are committed to quality child care throughout North Dakota,” said Linda Lembke, North Dakota CCR&R director for eastern North Dakota. “We know that quality care and high caliber early childhood education for children in their earliest years yields tremendous benefits to individuals and communities. We are fortunate to be able to partner with First Children’s Finance to provide this opportunity.”

The Growth Fund assists child-care centers with expertise needed to develop a center-specific business plan to address current and future capacity plans, complete a program analysis and plan for development.

The fund will also help center directors develop leadership skills. A small group of local business leaders will be formed to share their expertise on development and implementation of the business plan.
