Angels to get 2010 All-Star game

The Los Angeles Angels are expected to announce they will host the 2010 All-Star game, returning the event to Anaheim for the first time since 1989.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Angels are expected to announce they will host the 2010 All-Star game, returning the event to Anaheim for the first time since 1989.

The Angels had long been considered the leading candidate to get the game. Commissioner Bud Selig is set to make it official Wednesday.

This year’s All-Star game will be held at Yankee Stadium and the 2009 event is set for St. Louis.

It is expected that future games will be held in Arizona (2011), Kansas City (2012) and the Mets’ new ballpark (2013).
