Kathy Hanish, RN, MS, executive partner, MeritCare Roger Maris Cancer Center, has been appointed president of the board of directors for Hospice of the Red River Valley for 2008-2009. Other officers include: Clayton Jensen, MD, Detroit Lakes, Minn., retired physician, vice president; Julie Barner, Fargo, community volunteer, secretary-treasurer, and Russell Tweiten, Fargo, agribusiness consultant and past president. Remaining board members include:

Hospice of the Red River Valley is a not-for-profit, Medicare and Medicaid certified hospice providing medical, emotional, and spiritual care to patients and families experiencing a terminal illness. Care is provided in the comfort of the patient’s home, a nursing home or an assisted living facility. Services are provided in all or portions of 29 counties in North Dakota and Minnesota through offices in Fargo, Grand Forks, Lisbon, Mayville and Valley City, N.D, and Detroit Lakes.
