Bellevue bounced out of NAIA World Series

Bellevue University was eliminated from the NAIA World Series on Monday in Lewiston, Idaho. The Bruins were defeated by Embry-Riddle (Fla.) 6-1 in a loser-out game. On Saturday, Embry-Riddle eliminated Jamestown College 10-5.

The Jimmies defeated Bellevue 2-1 in their best-of-three Plains Super Regional series here May 14-15. The Jimmies finished the season with a 32-20 record, while the Bruins closed at 52-17.

In other games Monday, Spring Arbor stayed alive with an 11-10 win over Azusa Pacific. Spring Arbor defeated the Jimmies 7-5 in the Series’ opening game May 23.

Also, Lee (Tenn.) rallied out of an early 5-0 deficit to remain unbeaten with a 14-8 win over Union (Ky.). The other winner’s-bracket game between Lewis-Clark State and Oklahoma City was in progress at press time.
