The North Dakota Safety Council is expanding its emergency care program. The program consists of training businesses, government agencies and individuals in CPR/AED, first aid, blood-borne path-ogens and airborne pathogens. The expansion of the program coincides with the hiring of a new coordinator and several new instructors. The emergency care program is a statewide program and is looking at training 8,000 people in the next year. The program still needs more paid and volunteer instructors to meet the goal. The next CPR and First Aid Instructor class is from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 9, 10 and 11.

People interested in helping the council achieve this goal and who want a part-time or volunteer position teaching emergency care programs should attend a meeting on Wednesday at the North Dakota Safety Council Headquarters, 1640 Burnt Boat Drive, Bismarck, N.D.

Individuals must RSVP by calling 701-223-6372. For those who cannot attend and live in another part of the state e-mail or call Kevin Stewart at KevinS@NDSC.org or 701-223-6372.
