WAHPETON (AP) — Health officials say a building at a Wahpeton industrial plant that burned in February is being prepared for demolition while cleanup at the site continues.

The building at the Industrial Plating Corp. site is scheduled to be demolished next week.

A Feb. 18 fire destroyed much of the plant, which uses chemicals to clean metal. The cause of the fire has been listed as “undetermined.”

State waste management director Scott Radig said the site is not a threat to human health. Owner Howard Jensen says the future of the plant is still undecided.

Jensen said he wants to continue operations but “there are decisions to be made yet.”
