Old-time music festival planned
Two great Midwestern bluegrass bands will bring their unique sounds to Cross Ranch State Park on Friday and Saturday, June 20 and 21, for the 18th annual Missouri River Old Time Music Festival. Headline groups this year are the Wisconsin group, Art Stevenson and Highwater, and from Minnesota, Lonesome Tradition. Other regional and local performers are the Missouri River Boys, Eric Olson, Cottonwood, the Old Five and Dimers and Moose Creek Symphony.

Headline groups this year are the Wisconsin group, Art Stevenson and Highwater, and from Minnesota, Lonesome Tradition. Other regional and local performers are the Missouri River Boys, Eric Olson, Cottonwood, the Old Five and Dimers and Moose Creek Symphony.
Art Stevenson and Highwater are considered Wisconsin’s best-known bluegrass show and, to date, have released six albums, including their latest 2006 release, “John Deere.” The group will perform on Friday night at 9:30 p.m. and on Saturday at both 4:30 and 9:30 p.m.
Lonesome Tradition’s mu-sic includes bluegrass, classic country and original songs. At the core of the group are Tim and Cindy Roggenkamp, who have been entertaining audiences for more than 25 years. Performances are at 8:30 p.m. Friday and at 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
