“‘A moment in time ...’ has been well received,” said Kathy Steiner, managing editor of the Sun. She expressed her appreciation to Mirt Brown, Dave Robertson and Bruce Berg, who compiled the stories and photos that were used in the Sun for more than a year to mark the 125th Anniversary Celebration of Jamestown. The celebration begins Saturday and runs through July 5.
“A moment in time ...” featured some aspect of James-town’s history. The series featured such topics as aviation, notable figures, Jamestown College, hospitals, holiday celebrations, the Opera House and schools. It has been running each Monday since January.
Steiner also thanked the Lutz Mansion for allowing the Sun and 125th committee to use many photos with the stories during the course of the series.
And she noted that Jamestown College staff also worked to provide stories that were featured in “moments” as it also marks 125 years.
The Sun will include in Wednesday’s newspaper a special section on the 125th Anniversary Celebration. It will feature not only information on the events that are planned but also stories on Jamestown’s history.
“A moment in time ...” is on A7.
