Local author to sign copies of her book

Mary Ellen Erickson, Kensal, N.D., will be at Great Stories Book Shoppe from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday to sign copies of her latest children’s book: “Bonbon’s Special Christmas.” In this, the third in a series of children’s books, main character Grandma Mary returns to answer questions about Christmas. The story teaches the meaning of Christmas as a Christian holiday and traditions practiced throughout the years.

Mary Ellen Erickson, Kensal, N.D., will be at Great Stories Book Shoppe from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday to sign copies of her latest children’s book: “Bonbon’s Special Christmas.”

In this, the third in a series of children’s books, main character Grandma Mary returns to answer questions about Christmas. The story teaches the meaning of Christmas as a Christian holiday and traditions practiced throughout the years.

“Snowstorm” and “First Day of School” are the first two books in the series. All three books are now available in hard cover.

Erickson has begun a series of juvenile mysteries called the “Peanut Butter Club Mysteries.” “What Happened to the Deer,” the first in the series, is now available in bookstores.

Erickson has also written three adult books: the nonfiction “Common Sense Care Giving,” historical novel “Otis,” and novel “Geezettes.”

Some of her books are also available at the Kirkpatrick Art Gallery in the Frontier Village in James-town.
