Minn. man arrested for running into house fire

A Winona homeowner faces charges after he allegedly ignored a firefighter’s orders and ran back into his burning house. Police say the 53-year-old man was cited after he ran back into the home to retrieve a computer.

WINONA, Minn. (AP) — A Winona homeowner faces charges after he allegedly ignored a firefighter’s orders and ran back into his burning house.

Police say the 53-year-old man was cited after he ran back into the home to retrieve a computer.

Firefighters were called to the home Sunday night. Police say the man was upset about the fire and had been ordered several times to stand back. He then bolted into the burning home and retrieved the computer.

The man was released from custody pending a court appearance.

The house sustained damage on the first and second floors.
