Icelandic Society offers scholarship

The Icelandic Heritage Society, an affiliate of the Scandinavian Heritage Association of Minot is offering two scholarships in the amount of $500 each, to be awarded at the beginning of the second semester of school in the 2008-2009 school year. Any student of Icelandic descent who will be a junior or senior in an undergraduate program is eligible to apply for these awards. They must be carrying a full course of study, with a minimum 3.0 scholastic average, and be enrolled during the year of scholarship application.

Applications may be received by request from: Colleen Fitchner, 7120 County Rd. 19 S., Minot, ND 58701. These applications must be returned to the same address by August 31, along with the materials requested in the application. The recipients will be selected by the scholarship committee and notified in September, with an award ceremony held during the Hostfest in October.
