Elks beat Aberdeen, Merchants

The Elks defeated Aberdeen (S.D.) 8-6 and beat their crosstown rival, the Jamestown Merchants, 8-7.
Tyler Wilson, an incoming Jamestown College reliever, went the distance on a five-hitter in the victory over Aberdeen. Wilson limited Aberdeen to six hits and struck out nine. Eric Schmid reached base three times in the leadoff spot and David Sauter had two hits. The Elks took advantage of a total of 10 walks and hit batters in scoring their eight runs.
Schmid, Sauter, Jordan Dusanj and P.J. Pina all had two hits apiece in the win over the Merchants. The Elks outhit the Merchants 11-7. John Ness had two hits for the Merchants.
The Elks’ next game is Sunday at 7 p.m. at Jack Brown Stadium against the Tarno Tigers.
