Driver escapes injury after train collision

Authorities say the driver of a cement truck was battered and bruised but able to walk away after he ran into the lead locomotive of a freight train east of Hannaford.

HANNAFORD, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say the driver of a cement truck was battered and bruised but able to walk away after he ran into the lead locomotive of a freight train east of Hannaford.

Griggs County Sheriff Bob Hook said the 23-year-old driver told him he did not see the westbound BNSF freight train.

The truck was totaled. The crash happened on a township road shortly before 9 a.m.
