ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Make that three babies — count ’em, three — to go.

Babies in a hurry made for a memorable Monday for firefighters in and a-round Rochester who were summoned three times to deliver infants in cars.

Just after 5 a.m. Monday, authorities said, a woman gave birth in a car alongside a road in suburban Brighton. Fire officials and firefighter-emergency medical personnel helped deliver the infant.

Two hours later, firefighters in nearby Perinton delivered a baby girl in a car that had pulled into the parking lot of their fire station while the mother was in route to the hospital. The third birth occurred in Rochester. De-tails weren’t immediately available.

Fire officials said firefighters don’t often deliver babies in emergencies — let alone three times in the same region in a morning. Ambulance crews are more likely to face such a situation.

, they say.

“It’s a full moon. It’s just crazy,” said Carrie Sippel, the second of the three new mothers.
