Hagel takes Streets opener

Kelly Hagel picked up a feature win on the opening night of the 2007 Wissota Street Stock Special on Saturday night at the Jamestown Speedway.

The Carrington driver made his way past Trent Grager on the fourth lap of the main event and went on to take the checkered flag and pick up a $1,000 first-place prize.

Heat winners in the Street Stocks on opening night were Rusty Kollman, Grager, Kelly Hagel and Spencer Johnson.

Results from Sunday’s second night of the two-day special event were not available at press time.

Corey Seckerson took the early lead in the Wissota Modifieds feature. But Bob Sagen took the lead on lap 2 before giving way to Mark Trautner. The Mahnomen, Minn., driver led the final 18 laps and took the first-night trophy.

Randy Klein of Valley City picked up a Wissota Midwest Modifieds feature win.

Eric Edwards was the early leader, before giving way to Jayson Corell. Klein took the point on lap 9 before Corell moved back in front one lap later. Klein answered with a strong run of his own and took the lead for good on lap 11.

Corey Seckerson of Jamestown led from start to finish in the Bombers feature.

Glenn and Cindy Christianson picked up a win in the Road Hogs race.
