ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — Fire officials are blaming an electric motor for a fire that broke out Saturday at an ethanol plant at Mina.
The fire at the Glacial Lakes Energy plant at Mina broke out about 4 p.m. Saturday. Fire crews were on the scene for about 90 minutes.
Ipswich firefighter Mike Olson said it was a smoldering fire and that crews had to remove some corn before firefighters could get in and get to work.
Damage was limited to the motor.
The plant opened earlier this summer.
