Ellendale improves to 3-0

The Ellendale Cardinals are off to a hot start in the early-going of the 2008 girls’ volleyball season. The Lady Cardinals took down the Milnor Bison in three games on Saturday to improve to a record of 3-0.

Ashley Herman had a big day in front of the net for the Cardinals, scoring 22 kills en route to Ellendale’s 25-20, 25-21, 25-19 match victory. A total of five Ellendale athletes hit double digits in digs, which included Shannon Brauer with 29 digs and Kiley Fuller with 25.

Fuller was also able to successfully set up her teammates on offense, as she racked up a total of 37 assists during the match.

Kayce Olson and Meg Martin also turned in solid performances for the Cardinals. Olson ended the match with five blocks, seven kills and 15 blocks, while Martin ended with three blocks, four kills, and 15 digs.
